COVID-19 Procedures

  • Parents are not allowed on site at drop off or pick up times
  • Side Gate (Claypole St) and Crossing Gate will be closed permanently

At drop off (8:30 – 9:10 am)

  • Gates will be closed until 8:25 am
  • In the morning please drop your children outside the front gate OR back gate
  • Teachers will be monitoring both gates at this time
  • Students will go straight to their classroom to keep cohorts separate

At pick up (starting at 2:20 pm) - back gate will be open

  • 2:20 pm - Kinder & Siblings – Assemble in the ‘cow’ area dismissal from ‘bus gate’. (NO after school care)
  • 2:30 pm – Stage 1 & Siblings – Assemble in the front concrete area dismissal from ‘electronic gate’ (NO after school care)
  • 2:30 pm – Unit – Dismissal from the car park
  • 2:40 pm – Stage 2 & Siblings – Leave on own (NO after school care)
  • 2:50 pm – Stage 3/After school Care – Leave on own
  • Teachers will be monitoring both gates at this time
  • Buses operating – however, parents are encouraged to drive students to school where possible

Lunch and recess breaks

Lunch

  • K-2 - 10:30 am playtime  |  11:00am eating in classrooms for 10 minutes
  • 3-6 - 10:55 am eating in classrooms for 10 minutes  |  11:05 am Playtime
  • Support Unit to integrate with appropriate Stage cohorts

Recess

  • K-2 - 1:00pm playtime  |  1:20pm eating in classrooms for 10 minutes
  • 3-6 - 1:25pm outside
  • Support Unit to integrate with appropriate Stage cohorts

Play Areas

  • K-2 - switch between grass/infants cola and primary cola areas
  • 3-6 - switch between grass/infants cola and primary cola areas

Hygiene - all staff on site are fully vaccinated

  • Staff will wear masks at all times
  • Students (K-6) are strongly encouraged to wear masks
  • Paper masks will be supplied to those who have arrived with a mask and need it replaced
  • Ensure washing of hands and sanitising
  • Toilets will be assigned to cohorts
  • Windows and doors will be open at all time
  • Outdoor learning will occur where possible

If sick… coughing, sneezing or any cold and flu-like symptoms

  • PLEASE keep your child at home
  • Children with these symptoms will be sent home
  • Parents MUST get their child COVID tested and must share the results with the school before they return

Attendance

  • All students are expected to attend school from Monday, 25 October 2021
  • Parents are to supply a medical explanation if students are not going to attend school
  • There will be no dual modes of learning
  • Teachers will not be supplying home learning packs

COVID-19 monitoring

  • Snap lockdowns may occur
  • As a school we will be prepared with Home Learning in these cases – if required

COVID-19 reporting

  • This will occur if a positive COVID case has been in the school within a 3 week timeframe

End of year assembly/celebrations

  • At this present time these will not occur in their usual forma
  • Arrangements will be made to video assemblies
  • Assemblies will be restricted to cohorts and not whole school

Sport

  • All outside school sporting events will not occur
  • School sport will be arranged in cohorts with each cohort using ‘cohort sport equipment’
  • Equipment will be sanitised after use

Lining up and awards

  • No lining up – students to go straight to class
  • Merit Awards – students to hand in to class teacher or place in a box outside office
  • White Awards will be announced over the loudspeaker

Canteen

  • Canteen will be in operation from Monday, 18 October 2021
  • New owner is ‘Mel’s Canteen’
  • Ordering online is strongly encouraged as we don’t want mixed groups of students mingling at the counter
