Kindergarten for next year

We are thrilled to welcome Kindergarten students and their families to Thomas Acres Public School each year! To ensure a smooth and positive start to school life, we have a range of engaging events planned to support your child’s transition.

Kindy transition program

Our Kindy Transition Program runs from May through to early November, giving children the chance to build confidence and feel at home in their new learning environment.

Kindergarten orientation sessions

In addition, our Kindergarten Orientation Sessions will take place in November, offering families the opportunity to connect with teachers, explore our school, and get ready for this exciting new chapter.

To kick off this journey together, we will plan some fun and exciting opportunities for us to meet and get to know one another.

To ensure a smooth start and help us tailor activities to your child's unique needs, please complete all enrolment paperwork (including a copy of the birth certificate) prior to their first day.

We can't wait to welcome you and your little one to our school community!

Get ready for primary school

Starting school is a big milestone for children and their families.  Get ready for the first day with our Getting Ready for primary schoolresources, packed with information to help your family prepare for kindergarten and beyond.

Getting ready for the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

To enrol your child in Year 7, you will need to complete an Expression of Interest for Year 6 to Year 7 transition. The Expression of Interest (EOI) lets you indicate which school(s) you would like your child to attend in Year 7.

The EOI process will be available online in early March each year. After you submit an EOI and it has been assessed, your child will be offered a place at a high school.

If your child will not be attending a NSW Government high school next year, please let us know by completing a Placement Not Required form.

If you are unsure whether they will be attending a NSW Government school (you’ve applied for a private school, or you are moving interstate), we ask that you still complete an EOI and follow up with your school once a decision has been made.

The online process will guide you through your options and collect the information required to make the process as smooth as possible.

For parents/carers who are not able to complete an application online, a paper EOI form can be collected from the school office.

School contributions

In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
