Summer PSSA Gala Day No.1

PSSA Gala Day No.1 (selected students only)

As part of the PDHPE syllabus, students will learn how to maintain a happy and active lifestyle. By allowing your child to attend the primary Gala Day they gain the opportunity to enjoy sports and live a healthy lifestyle.

PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) organises Gala days to allow students to compete against local schools. Each term, schools have the opportunity to participate in three (3) Gala days. They are full days commencing at approximately 10:00 am and concluding at approximately 2:00 pm.  During the day students play a total of three/four games.  See the Information sheet below.

As a condition of being selected for a Gala Day team, you and your child must sign a contract in order to be accepted into the team - see Gala day contract below.

Your child will be participating in training sessions held at Thomas Acres Reserve. Due to this, students will be required to walk to and from the Thomas Acres Reserve during Friday sport sessions.

There will be four (4) summer gala days in total--two (2) in Term 1 and two (2) in Term 4.  The full cost to participate in all four (4) is $50, but to make things easier, we're only asking for $12.50 per gala day. This way, if a day is cancelled due to weather, you won't be paying for something that doesn't go ahead.

Summary Gala Days are listed below:

  • Gala No.1 ($12.50)  -  Friday, 14 March 2025 (Term 1 - Week 7)
  • Gala No.2 ($12.50)  -  Friday, 4 April 2025 (Term 1 - Week 10)
  • Gala No.3 ($12.50)  -  Friday, 24 October 2025 (Term 4 - Week 2)
  • Gala No.4 ($12.50)  -  Friday, 7 November 2025 (Term 4 - Week 4)

If a Gala Day is cancelled due to weather or other unexpected events, it won't be rescheduled. We need to give bus companies at least 24 hours' notice to cancel, or we still have to pay for the buses. Because of this, we may not be able to offer a credit. Thanks for your understanding!
