FREE vision assessments

All Students at Thomas Acre Public School will be seen by an Optometrist and an Orthoptist in Weeks 7, 8 & 9 Term 1, 2025 (Monday, 10 March 2025 - Friday, 28 March 2025)

The Optometrist will be checking vision, health of the eye, and any need for glasses.

The Orthoptist will check each student’s eye posture, eye teaming, near and far focusing ability, 3D vision as well as colour vision.

Every student assessed who requires glasses will be given the option of choosing glasses from our FREE range.

Summary results will be passed along to class teachers. Comprehensive results of testing will be mailed to parents in the form of a vision report.

The school will be providing our Optometrists with the below details

1. Full Name (as it appears on your Medicare card): 
2. Date of Birth
3. Student’s Class
4. Medicare Card Number

If you are happy for these details to be released, and you’d like your child’s eye assessed no further action is required.

If you choose not to have your child’s eyes assessed, please sign the attached not to opt-out.  Copies of this note are also available at the front office.
