Student, parent, teacher conferences

Last term, you would have received your child’s report for the first semester of learning. So that you have an opportunity to discuss how your child is going and where to next, K-6 will be hosting Student, Parent and Teacher Conferences. Please read the information below and return the preference slip to your child’s teacher no later than Wednesday, 7 August (Week 3).

When will the conferences be?

Student, Parent and Teacher Conferences will be held in Week 4, on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 August, between the hours of 2pm and 6pm.

Where will the conferences be held?

Student, Parent and Teacher Conferences will be held in your child’s classroom.

How long will the conferences go for?

Each conference will be run for approximately 10 minutes, to allow each teacher the opportunity to meet with as many students and parents as possible.

Can my child attend the conference?

Yes! We would like your child to be a part of the conference so that they are involved in the discussion and have input into the next semester of their learning.

What if the time does not suit me?

Teachers will do their best to allocate your preferred times. However, if you find that your scheduled time is no longer suitable, please message your child’s teacher through Sentral to arrange an alternate time.

What if my child has an Individual Learning Plan or Personalised Learning Pathway?

Please indicate this on the return slip below. Your child will have a 15 minute timeslot to allow for reviewing and discussing current ILP/PLP goals. Where possible, please ensure that you have also notified relevant agencies of the upcoming appointment so that they have an opportunity to attend.

Will Support Unit families be having meetings?

No. Students and families from the Support Unit have recently held ILP/PLP meetings, so a review time will be scheduled for Term 4.

What happens if my child is in 1/2H or 6C?

These interviews will be scheduled for a date held later in the term. You will be notified of this as soon as possible.
