Thomas Acres Public School and Learning Links will be holding a parent workshop on anxiety and depression in children and adolescents:

A focus on what parents can do to support their children

Parents gain knowledge regarding the symptoms displayed by children and adolescents with depression and/or anxiety. Parents gain a basic understanding of treatment, diagnosis, causes, related risk factors and practical strategies to support these children. This will be measured through an evaluation process at the completion of the workshops.

The 2 hour session covers topics such as

• identifying depression and/or anxiety
• strategies to support children with depression and/or anxiety
• risk concerns
• how to talk to your child
